Potential Risks Involved With Tree Removal in Temecula

Improper equipment

There is a reason that OSHA requires tree removal professionals to wear head-to-toe protective gear.

Power lines

If your tree hits a power line, potentially the best result is that you knock out power to your home or even the entire neighborhood.

Once a tree is in motion, nothing can or will stop it. The power of gravity is bringing that behemoth to the ground, and often not in the direction you would expect.

  • Wow! These guys are AMAZING!

I had called another tree service previously and was told, "I'll come by within 3 days to look at the tree and call you back." I never heard back from that vendor.

So, I called E.L.M. Tree Care and left a message. I received a call back a little over an hour later and then Ryan came by the same afternoon to provide an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and they came back the next day to trim down our tree. In less than a 48 hour period from the initial call, our tree was fixed.

  • We had a good experience with E.L.M. Tree Care.

We had a dying tree in the front yard we wanted to have removed and also needed six of our palm trees trimmed.  I texted Bob pictures of all of the trees and he called me that same afternoon to get a little more information.

I had the quote the next day and it was very reasonable.  He even gave us a military discount, as my husband is a veteran.  Bob's crew showed up when they were supposed to and did a great job on the trees.  They were quick, professional and did a good job cleaning everything up.

  • Money well spent!

What an awesome job! It's like we have a new house with that massive tree gone. I'm impressed. No damage to my cameras, rain gutters, sprinklers, or drain. All the guys did a great job and totally respected our property. Did good clean up and left yard looking great. Money well spent!

If you want the job done right, and at good price, better call E.L.M Tree Care!

  • Very quick service and very easy to work with.

Bob was quick to respond to my request for an estimate, and very easy to work with to set up our tree trimming service.

On the day of our scheduled service his crew was not only easy to work with, but they did an excellent job on our Pepper tree. We will definitely have E.L.M Tree Care back out to do a few of the larger trees on the rest of our property.

  • Are we Local to Temecula licensed and insured?

Everyone likes to get a good deal, especially these days. But because your home is your biggest investment, and because some types of maintenance work can actually be dangerous, we wanted to caution you about hiring unlicensed tree trimming individuals to perform this work on your property.

Often these handymen perform a variety of services, and appear to offer lower prices on them. But that’s because they’ve avoided getting licensed by the state… And that might mean they haven’t been properly educated and trained. Unfortunately, that “lower” price could end up being much higher in the end, due to the cost of fixing mistakes or replacing damaged trees.

And, in the absolute worst case scenarios, a limb or entire tree could come down on your house, garage, car, or some other important structure. Someone could get injured, too. Aside from the obvious distress of that situation, you could be looking at a costly claim on your homeowners insurance. In many cases, homeowners insurance policies won’t even cover injuries and damages that occur when you’ve hired an unlicensed contractor, which can leave you vulnerable to a personal lawsuit.

And yes, those scenarios do happen more often than you might think!

So, when does a tree trimming worker need to be licensed? In the state of California, trimming any tree taller than 15 feet will require a license. Contractors are also required to cover their crews with workers compensation insurance, and provide appropriate safety gear and tools.

Homeowners should always obtain a written bid and contract before allowing any tree trimming company to perform work on their property. And, you should check with the state Contractor’s License Board to verify that a particular company is indeed licensed and insured to do the work safely and within requirements of the law.

Give us a call if you have questions about tree trimming work on your property. We are fully licensed and insured, and will be happy to answer any questions that you might have regarding the process.
